Vegas, baby.....

I am officially back in Texas!! And BOY, am I glad to be home... Last week, I tagged along with Ryan and crew (starring Jared and Zac, with supporting rolls being played by Chris and Adam) for their yearly voyage to Las Vegas for the 2009 SEMA show. I have tons of details and pics to follow, but as I'm fresh off a 22-hour drive (STRAIGHT, no sleep!!), my brain is mush, so those will all have to wait... Also, my desk apparently became an inbox while I was away, and I'm sure my boss would appreciate my getting to work!
However, to tide you over for now, I'll just share a few things I learned during two 20+ hour drives, a week in Sin City with four young men, a random trip to California, and my first "Pre-run"!

I have learned...

...when sharing a bathroom with three men, ALWAYS be awake first. Also, ALWAYS be first to get into the bathroom after a lunch of Mexican or dinner of Hibachi!

... young men do not plan-- period-- for ANYTHING-- so do not expect this. Chris (the "matured" one) gives me SOME hope this changes with age... but not much.

... when Ryan Landiak says, "That won't work; do it this way," or "That's going to break if you do it like that," or even "My stomach hurts," you should LISTEN!! (Luckily, I already knew that, more or less, so I suffered few consequences.)

... you can learn a good deal about a person from 20+ hours on the road. You can learn a good deal MORE about them by observing them for one week in "Sin City."

... on road trips, men have to stop to pee MORE often than girls! It's a common misconception that women are always the ones needing to stop... Not so! It's the guys! I think this little myth must have originated from the fact that the whole world is a man's toilet-- he doesn't need to "stop to pee"; he can stop "to get gas (and pee)" or "to eat (and pee)" or "check the tire pressure (and pee)". Women, don't let your men fool you any longer! And don't let them give you a hard time when you demand a potty! It's not our fault we're anatomically disadvataged when it comes to relief on road trips! (And NO, we are NOT physically able to go in a bottle!!!!)

... also on the subject of road trips with men... don't be fooled into letting them tell you to "pack light." I packed two, yes TWO bags for ten days gone-- including SEMA clothes, go-out clothes, pj's, workout clothes (unused, by the way), camping clothes for 90 degree weather, camping clothes for 40 degree weather... All this in TWO bags-- and not one man there had less than THREE!! The next man who mandates I should pack "light" will get a light middle finger :)   (Not really, Mom, you know I'm a lady!!)

Well, off to work! I will hopefully have pics and a few stories up tomorrow!
Oh, and one last thing I learned...

...Vegas is NOT for couples!!!
